Frequently asked questions
Do I need to provide an LLM API key?
No. The core engine (deterministic plans, execution, state management) works without any AI. AI features are optional and activated when you provide your own Anthropic API key in Settings.
How does per-seat pricing work?
The Community plan is free forever with generous limits for individual developers. When your team needs more capacity or collaboration features, Team is $29/user/month with up to 10 seats included. No credit card required for Community.
Can I use IronLayer with my existing dbt project?
Yes. Run ironlayer migrate from-dbt ./my-project to import your models. IronLayer also supports SQLMesh and raw SQL imports.
Where does IronLayer run?
IronLayer is a SaaS product hosted on Azure. Your SQL transformations execute on your Databricks workspace — we never touch your data directly. Enterprise customers can self-host on-prem.
